Mural and workshops with pupils at Jersey school.
I was invited to create a mural and do some workshops with the pupils at the school on the Isle of Jersey, UK. The mural was pre-planned - and the same visual elements were then broken down into a set of shapes that were provided as a ‘kit’ for a collage workshop withe the pupils, who were chosen by the school to take part.
We discussed the concept of branding via the reuse of visual styles and motifs - and how this applies to both their trainers and clothes - through to work by artists such as Banksy and Warhol. After creating a collage based on the mural, the pupils were then given free reign to produce their own. A fun and rewarding day for everyone!
